My name is Lindsay Breidenthal and I have been making pictures for as long as I can remember. My intention is to invite a closer look with a narrative providing depth of information, intimacy, and new perspectives. I like to layer pattern and collage within a painting as a kind of biography or proof of the process. The use of mixed media also presents opportunities to change contexts and former associations we have with familiar images.

I began painting with mostly oil and acrylic about fifteen years ago while studying art and botany at Central Washington University. The complementary relationship between science and art provides an endless stream of ideas. I am currently living between the big river and Cascade Mountains in Wenatchee, WA.
